Dear Mr. Moni,
I wanted to point out one thing, which you might be Interested of. I’m a from Tamil Nadu of INDIA. I’m doing My Master’s degree in Germany. As you know, Tamil is one of the 6 oldest languages in the World. I Noticed that you mentioned 330 Million Deities in Hinduism. But I think it is Much More. In our Language we use a Term called ‘Muppathu Mukkodi Devargal’. As I learned in school in Tamil Nadu, The Numbering System in existence is only till ‘Kodi’ which is English called ’1 Crore’ equivalent to ’10 Million’. I also Believed that term ‘Muppathu Mukkodi’ means 33 Crore or 330 Million.
Recently I found out that there are Numerical Terms in Tamil for which there is no equivalent term in any other language. In that appears the term ‘Mukkodi’ which is 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 (1 and 21 zeros). So, I believe the term ‘Muppathu Mukkodi’ Means 30 ‘Mukkodi’ that is 30 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 (3 and 22 zeros).
I think this might be of more interest to you and I hope you research more about this term ‘Muppathu Mukkodi’
If you find some other Meaning for this Term, Kindly Email Me.
There are too many Deities in Hinduism.
Regards,
Shyam Sundar.
